In the construction of the Tribute Series Kiloton, G&L pays special attention to a powerful sound and excellent handling. The poplar body, with generous shaping, hugs the player with optimal balance both in a seated position and on the strap, while the narrow “Medium C” profile of the bolt-on maple neck lets any Bassline go out of the fingers with incredible ease. The large block inlays marking the positions on the 21-fret rosewood fingerboard also turn out to be an elegant visual detail.
Powerful sound thanks to MFD Humbucker
For the electric sound conversion, G&L equips the Tribute Series Kiloton Bass with a powerful Magnetic Field Design Humbucker. Placed in the sweet spot between the middle and bridge positions, the Bass pickup, which is equipped with fat pole pieces, delivers a powerful sound that presents every note played with rich pressure in the low end and the right amount of brilliant assertiveness. Via the small 3-way switch between the Volume and Tone controls, the coils of the MFD humbucker can be called up in parallel or serial connection as well as in split mode, so that three distinct basic tones are available.

The solidly built G&L Saddle-Lock Bridge not only guarantees an optimal adjustment of intonation and string action, but also supports the first-class sound of the bass guitar through the bombproof lockable tail pieces.
